We are the first expandable polystyrene
manufacture in Sri Lanka to achieve a
food safety system certificate.

Expandable polystyrene

The system is structured to comply with FSSC 22000 version 5 GFSI standard and to comply with European Union (EU) regulations, Food and Drug Association (FDA) regulations and statutory regulations of Sri Lanka

  • Raw material is polystyrene which is a synthetic aromatichydrocarbonpolymer made from the monomer styrene. Styrene is (C 8 H 8 ),  is derived from petroleum or natural gas
  • Polystyrene is clear, hard, and rather brittle. It is a poor barrier to oxygen and water vapor and has a relatively low melting point
  • Polystyrene is one of the most widely used plastics
  • Polystyrene foams also exhibit good damping properties. Heat cannot travel through EPF easily, so it is a great insulator. Therefore it is used widely in packaging. Foams are also used for non-weight-bearing architectural structures (such as ornamental pillars)
  • There is no any significant microbiological or chemical hazards involved with raw materials or production process other than non-significant physical hazards due to dust and metal contamination during handling , storing and cutting processors
